澳洲东方传媒弘扬佛法慈善机构Australia Oriental Media Buddhist Charity Association，成立于2014年5月，是经澳洲政府批准合法成立的慈善机构，具有完备的政府财务审核体系，资金全部由政府监管。
多年来澳洲东方传媒弘扬佛法慈善机构和董事长卢军宏致力于慈善事业发展。2014年、2015年卢军宏董事长向Beyond Blue澳洲忧郁症协会捐献善款并与Beyond Blue达成合作意向，多次开展忧郁症救助的宣传与慈善活动。
澳洲东方传媒弘扬佛法慈善机构长期和各大慈善机构合作，卢军宏董事长多年来一直为国际红十字会（International Red Cross）、澳洲心脏救助基金会（Heart Foundation）、中风救助基金会（Stroke Foundation）、抗癌基金会（Cancer Council）、眼疾救助协会（Vision Australia）、国际狮子会等机构做捐助。
2015 年1月，卢军宏董事长为马来西亚水灾向马来西亚政府捐献善款；2011年澳洲布里斯班水灾，号召会员捐款；2013年，发起支持西藏日喀则地区贫困学生的慈善活动； 2015年8月，卢军宏董事长为法帝玛苏丹后基金会和东姑三王子癌症基金会捐赠；2015年12月为哈米娜苏丹后孤儿慈善基金会捐献善款。
2015年8月，澳洲东方传媒弘扬佛法慈善机构成员与义工到Lewisham Nursing Home老人院进行慈善慰问和演出。2015年9月卢军宏董事长为澳洲弱能儿童协康会进行慈善支援。2015年10月， 澳洲东方传媒弘扬佛法慈善机构慈善成员与义工慰问新州华人安老之家（Castle Hill Aged Care Home）开展多项帮助孤寡老人的慈善活动。在各大华人节日，比如春节、母亲节、重阳节、中秋节等，澳洲东方传媒弘扬佛法慈善机构成员与义工都为华人华侨献上精彩的慈善演出，成为广大华人华侨的精神家园。
卢军宏董事长 因其为国际文化和平所做出的突出贡献，至今已经在全世界五十多个国家与地区拥有一万会员。在联合国、美国国会、美国宽容博物馆、德国柏林等地举办的国际和 平会议，以及英国伦敦世界宗教联合大会上，多次获得世界和平大使殊荣；获得马来西亚皇室赐封拿督终身荣誉爵位；成为意大利锡耶纳大学荣誉客座教授；作为特 邀嘉宾出席2015年第十二届联合国卫塞节庆典活动；2015年9月，应联合国大会主席邀请出席在联合国总部举行的“2015年联合国大会和平文化高峰论 坛”并发言，与联合国大会主席、秘书长潘基文及世界各国政要领袖共谋世界和平。
A Brief Introduction to Australia Oriental Media Buddhist Charity Association
Australia Oriental Media Buddhist Charity Association (AOMB) was founded in May 2014. It has been registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and is required by law to maintain a transparent, correct, and complete financial records.
AOMB is devoted to promoting Buddhism and traditional Chinese culture, helping to restore the peaceful state of mind for modern people, and improving their mental wellbeing. It achieves these objectives by reaching out to people suffering from mental illnesses, raising money for adults and children with disabilities, and organising charitable events to support disaster relief efforts around the world.
Its work is guided by the core values of kindness and compassion. It raises awareness of the importance of improving the welfare of the elderly and children, and reaches out to those disadvantaged and marginalized in our society. By engaging itself in charitable events and the spread of Buddhism, it aims to play its part in the peaceful development of the world.
Devoted to Charity Work around the World
Raise Awareness of Mental Disorders
For years AOMB and its chairman, Richard Lu, have been devoted to charitable activities around the world. In 2014 and 2015, Mr Lu donated to Beyond Blue—an Australian non-profit organisation aimed to raise awareness of mental disorders. An agreement has been reached to take an initiative to raise awareness of anxiety and depression in Australia by organising several charitable events.
AOMB has been consistently working with major charities. Mr Lu has been donating to support organisations such as the International Red Cross, the Australian Stroke Foundation, the Heart Foundation, Anti-Cancer Council, Vision Australia, and Lions Clubs International.
In January 2015, Mr Lu donated to the Malaysian government to support its flood relief program. In 2011, Mr Lu fundraised to support the Brisbane flood relief efforts. Mr Lu also organised a charity program aimed at helping poor students in Tibet in 2013. In August 2015, Mr Lu donated to the Sultanah Fatimah Foundation and the Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation in Malaysia. In December 2015, Mr Lu donated to support the Sultanah Haminah Orphan Foundation in Malaysia.
Disaster Relief Efforts
In December 2013, Mr Lu donated to Tzu-Chi Foundation Australia to support its disaster relief programs, including those combatting bushfires in Australia, as well as helping those affected by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
Mr Lu also made donations to support disaster relief efforts in China, including the Yangtze River flood relief efforts in 1998, the earthquake relief programs in Sichuan province in both 2008 and 2013.
Serving Our Community
In August 2015, AOMB’s members and volunteers organised an entertaining performance for residents at Lewisham Nursing Home. In September 2015, Mr Lu donated to support the Sydney Chinese Parents Association-Children with Disabilities. In October 2015, AOMB’s members and volunteers visited Castle Hill Aged Care Home and worked together on several projects to the elderly.
To serve members of the Chinese community, AOMB’s members and volunteers also hosts various charitable functions and performances to celebrate key Chinese festivals, such as the Spring Festival, the Mother’s Day, the Double Ninth Festival, and the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Widely Recognised by the International Community
Due to Mr Lu’s outstanding contribution to the culture of peace around the world, he has 10,000 members in over 50 countries and regions. He has attended summits on world peace held in places such as the United Nations, the US Congress, the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, and Berlin, Germany. He was also awarded the title of “Ambassador for World Peace” at the Unity of Faiths Festival held in London, UK, the United Nations headquarters in New York, and the US Congress. In 2014, Mr Lu was awarded the status of honorary visiting professor by the prestigious University of Siena in Italy; in February 2015, he was also awarded the noble title Dato’, a Malaysian lifelong honour, at the Palace of Malaysia.
In May 2015, Mr Lu was invited to attend the 12th International Buddhist Conference on the United Nations Day of Vesak in Bangkok, Thailand. In September 2015, at the invitation of the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Mr Lu attended and spoke at the “High Level Forum on the Culture of Peace” as a special guest at the UN headquarters. The UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, General Assembly President, senior UN officials and eminent world leaders and peace advocates from around the world gathered to deliberate on non-violence and world peace.
